Narrative:

As the pilot flying; while maneuvering in the busy terminal area; I didn't notice that the flap indicator did not match the handle (2 indicated; 30 selected) until the captain identified it with the mechanical before landing checklist. We checked the led indicator on the overhead panel; the led's were full ext. We discussed how the aircraft felt as it was being hand flown; the feel was normal. We discussed the fact that the airspeed indicator was normal. The aircraft flew normal in all aspects except the flap indication. All this occurred approaching the final approach fix. The captain elected to continue to land. We used flap 15 vref and added 10 KIAS. Landing was uneventful. The flap indicator moved to match the handle shortly after clearing the runway during taxi. We notified maintenance on gate arrival.monitoring the flap indication after selecting a flap position was not adequate. After the initial flap selection we flew in that configuration for some time. The remaining configuration changes happened very quickly as we approached the final approach fix.
