Narrative:

Departed with MEL which was for 'full rev indication'. Immediately after takeoff we received amber 'rev' indication on associated engine. This is not the same as full reverse indication and so there was an element of confusion introduced. We continued climb out and after consulting QRH determined that it would be appropriate to contact maintenance for clarification and guidance. During the consultation; the decision was made to return to departure airport. We received clearance from ATC as well as a release to read (artr) from flight control. Normal approach and landing was made where maintenance was performed.
