Narrative:

While preforming aft aileron sector assembly inspection found a 1/16' pin punch in the area directly above the sector. This punch had the potential to drop loose from the area where it was riding and possibly interfere with primary flight control operation. The punch appeared to have been there for a period of time due to the amount of rust on the tool.this is an example of a complete lack of caring on whomever left the tool in the aircraft. Not certain what task they were working on at the time when they misplaced the tool. Highly unprofessional.
