Narrative:

ACARS stating #2 engine shutdown proceeding direct to ZZZ alerted at the same time I took call from ATC coordinator to advise me of same I reached out to the flight to ascertain more details and suggest a phone patch with maintenance control. I passed off my worksheet and sector responsibilities to nearby dispatchers and solicited help from my trainer and another trainer in the vicinity. I delegated checklist items to notify operations management and follow flight manual guidance. I pulled up 737 checklist guidance for engine out; drift down; landing with engine out. I called maintenance control to seek information and advice. They were unaware of the situation. As details from the flight came to me via ACARS I shared and conferred with maintenance control and responded to the flight with details of our discussion. I called the ATC coordinator to ensure a good communication flow via ATC as the flight was not electing to use voice communication. I shared landing data and advised captain's authority needed to bypass nearest suitable per flight manual guidance manual. I confirmed that ATC at ZZZ would be offering longest landing runway with emergency equipment. Flight was now at 10;000 ft and I ceased communication. I called the company ramp tower and kept an open phone line with them as they had eyes on the field and confirmed safe landing and subsequent normal taxi into the gate. I followed up with operations manager and [the chief pilot] and concluded the event. All communication with the flight was via ACARS.
