Narrative:

As I was completing recurring training; I received a page from a supervisor stating I needed to report back to the TRACON control room. I was in shock when the supervisor; took me into his office to tell me that I had a loss of separation. I had no such loss of separation. He played back the tapes of; an IFR A320; a VFR C208. I was working 'hcf approach sector 10.' this is class C airspace. The supervisor is not certified to work R10; so he must be unfamiliar with the rules; but I performed class C services per 7-8-2 a.3. Of the 7110.65 which states:7-8-2. Class C services class C services include the following: separation; traffic advisories; and safety alerts between IFR and VFR aircraft. [The A320] had departed ogg; after [the 208]; and I issued traffic to [the A320]; who stated he had [the 208] in sight. I used section 7-2-1 of the 7110.65 to tell [the A320] to maintain visual separation from [the 208]. [The A320] read back he would maintain visual separation from [the 208] and I told [the 208] that [the A320] had him in sight; and he was maintaining visual separation. All this is in accordance with 7110.65 7-2-1 'visual separation.'this is also in compliance with this section of the 7110.65: 7-8-3. Separationseparate VFR aircraft from IFR aircraft by any one of the following: visual separation as specified in para 7-2-1; visual separation; para 7-4-2; vectors for visual approach; and para 7-6-7; sequencing.I had [the supervisor] measure the closest distance that the A320 and the C208 came to each other; and it was two miles; plus the A320 was maintaining visual separation from the C208.I had several different types of separation being applied simultaneously; and I do not understand how the supervisor thinks it is possible that I had a loss of separation. I believe the supervisor should read the faah 7110.65; especially section 8; which applies to class C service and section 7-4-1 which applies to visual separation.
