Narrative:

Burlington has a right-hand pattern for runway 29 of which I was unaware. Called unicom (no answer) and reported downwind, base, and final for left-hand pattern. Airport located in farm area except for homes beginning 2000 ft southeast of field, and it didn't occur to me there could be a nonstandard pattern. Obviously one shouldn't assume. I did not overly any homes. The airport manager was upset.
