Narrative:

After pushing straight back from gate in dal; we were told to taxi via P; D2; C5; left to runway 13R. We looked at our 10-9 page and followed the route given to us. It made sense; because on the 10-9 page taxiway papa leads you directly to D2 taxiway. However; this is not correct. The 10-9 page incorrectly depicts the relationship of taxiway papa to D2. It is not a straight shot from papa to D2 as it would appear on the 10-9 page. Furthermore; there is a concrete barrier that runs parallel to taxiway papa on its south side which precludes you from seeing taxiway papa from the north ramp. The dallas airport page shows the correct relationship of taxiway papa and quebec to taxiways D2 and D3. We did not have this page up at the time; and there is no mention of any 'taxi out' issues on the dal airport page. Also; when they push you straight back from gate X; the taxiway signs for bravo; papa and quebec are all behind you; so you can't see them. There needs to be multiple; large 'Q's painted on taxiway quebec to help you identify it over taxiway papa; and the 10-9 page needs to be updated to show the correct relationship between taxiways Q; P; D2 and D3.there needs to be an expanded box on the 10-9 to show more detail in this area of the ramp and taxiways. There needs to be a 'taxi out' note put on the airport page. Also; there needs to be a note about the concrete barriers blocking your vision of taxiway papa when on the north ramp.
