Narrative:

After being handed off to tower from approach; ATC said straight in to 15. Tower turned a vintage heavy bomber in front of me to land. Tower cleared me to land number two. I stated I wanted to give the vintage heavy bomber a 'wide birth' do to the fear of severe wake turbulence. Tower stated again number two cleared to land number two. There was a king air behind us and he was number three. I slowed down to plan my touch down and approach to the airport so as not to get caught in the turbulence. I saw where the vintage bomber touched down so I planned my touchdown carefully. Less than half a mile and less than 300 feet altitude; fully configured for landing; full flaps; gear down power all the way back; the tower said the king air was too close and told me to go around. For fear of getting in the wake turbulence and the fact I was already so close to touching down I stated 'unable.' I was the lowest and slowest aircraft in the pattern on final and felt it would be unsafe to attempt a go around at that moment. The tower asked if I was not going to go around and again I said 'unable.' the clearance to land was not revoked and I touched down and made the first turn off. The king air was asked to go around; which they did without any problem.had the tower revoked my clearance to land; I would have declared an emergency due to being boxed in by the vintage bomber's potential turbulence and knowing that at my slow speed and altitude; if I had encountered the turbulence; it could have disturbed my aircraft beyond control. Not worth the risk. After landing; the tower asked me to call and I did. The controller asked why I didn't go around; I stated because of safety reasons due to the turbulence. He stated that IFR traffic takes precedence over VFR traffic and that it's his call not mine regarding going around. I stated that I am PIC and it is my call for the safety of the aircraft. He then told me that he was going to submit a pilot deviation. I do not believe I broke any rules; I acted to the best of my ability to stay safe with as little risk as possible.

Title: Beech A36 pilot reported being on approach to land after a vintage bomber and before an approaching King Air; and elected to land after being told to go-around by Tower due to the proximity of the King Air. A36 pilot cited his aircraft's speed and altitude and the probability of encountering vintage bomber's wake turbulence in disregarding the Tower's instructions.
