Narrative:

I had sector 54 and 58 combined. Upon closing the sector; I erroneously combined sector 54 to sector 14; but neglected combining sector 58 to sector 12 (thinking that I only had sector 54). I turned off the frequencies for sector 58 upon combining sector 54 to 14 (without paying attention to the fact that I needed to give those frequencies to sector 12). As I was about to leave the area; the sector 12 controller asked if I was going to give up the airspace? At this point my error became abundantly clear to me; and I then returned to the sector and combined 58 to 12 appropriately. The frequencies were unmonitored for approximately 5 minutes with no aircraft. This was simply a mental error on my part.eliminate shift work; improve chronic fatigue mitigation.
