Narrative:

Aircraft cruising at FL250 and instructed by ZJX to descend now to 15000' and cross 50 DME northwest crg VOR at 12000'. Descent started and aircraft was turned off course to avoid 16000' traffic. Passing 15000' aircraft was cleared direct crg VOR, crossing restriction was made 11,000' at 50 DME. Initial descent rate was not sufficient to clear 16000' traffic without turn off course.
