Narrative:

Our aircraft was being vectored for visibility approach to sfo. We were level at 7000' and traffic, an small aircraft, was called out to us 'VFR at 6500', 1 1/2 mi, 11 O'clock.' our observation of the 11 O'clock position showed a large cumulus cloud that would have put traffic in the cloud. We heard our flight called as traffic and the small aircraft stated he was 'VFR T 6500'' and could maintain. 20-30 seconds later we were given 'traffic alert, pull up!' we immediately pulled up 500' and I observed this aircraft go below my eat from 11 O'clock, less than 500' below and less than a second later. My conclusion was that this aircraft either came out of the observed cloud or around it, within very few ft of the cloud. After this near collision our flight proceeded routinely to sfo.

Title: LTT ACR FLT CREW HAD NMAC WITH SMA APPROX 25 MILES EAST OF SFO.

Narrative: OUR ACFT WAS BEING VECTORED FOR VIS APCH TO SFO. WE WERE LEVEL AT 7000' AND TFC, AN SMA, WAS CALLED OUT TO US 'VFR AT 6500', 1 1/2 MI, 11 O'CLOCK.' OUR OBSERVATION OF THE 11 O'CLOCK POS SHOWED A LARGE CUMULUS CLOUD THAT WOULD HAVE PUT TFC IN THE CLOUD. WE HEARD OUR FLT CALLED AS TFC AND THE SMA STATED HE WAS 'VFR T 6500'' AND COULD MAINTAIN. 20-30 SECS LATER WE WERE GIVEN 'TFC ALERT, PULL UP!' WE IMMEDIATELY PULLED UP 500' AND I OBSERVED THIS ACFT GO BELOW MY EAT FROM 11 O'CLOCK, LESS THAN 500' BELOW AND LESS THAN A SECOND LATER. MY CONCLUSION WAS THAT THIS ACFT EITHER CAME OUT OF THE OBSERVED CLOUD OR AROUND IT, WITHIN VERY FEW FT OF THE CLOUD. AFTER THIS NEAR COLLISION OUR FLT PROCEEDED ROUTINELY TO SFO.
