Narrative:

After departure from GGG we were flying in IMC with thunderstorms, heavy rain and turbulent air. While still talking to longview approach we asked for permission to deviate around WX visible on our installed radar. He replied we could navigate on our own and deviate as necessary. Shortly thereafter we were handed over to ZFW (128.7). On initial report we reported our altitude leaving and assigned. ZFW acknowledged and gave us FL200 (our filed final). We continued to deviate east of course around several storm cells visible on our scope. Shortly after initial check in we were severely chastised by ZFW for improper navigation. We told him (ZFW) that longview approach had given us permission to deviate as necessary. ZFW called us a liar. He was both rude and belligerent. While flying in difficult circumstances this controller destroyed my concentration of flying creating a possibly dangerous situation. A PIC with less experience could have found himself penetrating extremely severe WX (this was the same WX system that claimed the commuter going into lit at about the same time). Several mins later, after I had been handed over to the next controller still in ZFW, this controller called me back and apologized for his actions. He assured me I had been properly cleared by longview approach and I had done nothing wrong. I feel the problem was caused by a lack of communication between longview approach and ZFW; however, this in no way mitigates the actions by ZFW.

Title: REPORTER CITES ARTCC RADAR CTLR AS BEING AGGRESSIVE AND RUDE. PLT WAS ACCUSED OF USING IMPROPER NAVIGATION PROC BY CTLR.

Narrative: AFTER DEP FROM GGG WE WERE FLYING IN IMC WITH TSTMS, HEAVY RAIN AND TURBULENT AIR. WHILE STILL TALKING TO LONGVIEW APCH WE ASKED FOR PERMISSION TO DEVIATE AROUND WX VISIBLE ON OUR INSTALLED RADAR. HE REPLIED WE COULD NAVIGATE ON OUR OWN AND DEVIATE AS NECESSARY. SHORTLY THEREAFTER WE WERE HANDED OVER TO ZFW (128.7). ON INITIAL RPT WE RPTED OUR ALT LEAVING AND ASSIGNED. ZFW ACKNOWLEDGED AND GAVE US FL200 (OUR FILED FINAL). WE CONTINUED TO DEVIATE E OF COURSE AROUND SEVERAL STORM CELLS VISIBLE ON OUR SCOPE. SHORTLY AFTER INITIAL CHK IN WE WERE SEVERELY CHASTISED BY ZFW FOR IMPROPER NAV. WE TOLD HIM (ZFW) THAT LONGVIEW APCH HAD GIVEN US PERMISSION TO DEVIATE AS NECESSARY. ZFW CALLED US A LIAR. HE WAS BOTH RUDE AND BELLIGERENT. WHILE FLYING IN DIFFICULT CIRCUMSTANCES THIS CTLR DESTROYED MY CONCENTRATION OF FLYING CREATING A POSSIBLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. A PIC WITH LESS EXPERIENCE COULD HAVE FOUND HIMSELF PENETRATING EXTREMELY SEVERE WX (THIS WAS THE SAME WX SYS THAT CLAIMED THE COMMUTER GOING INTO LIT AT ABOUT THE SAME TIME). SEVERAL MINS LATER, AFTER I HAD BEEN HANDED OVER TO THE NEXT CTLR STILL IN ZFW, THIS CTLR CALLED ME BACK AND APOLOGIZED FOR HIS ACTIONS. HE ASSURED ME I HAD BEEN PROPERLY CLRED BY LONGVIEW APCH AND I HAD DONE NOTHING WRONG. I FEEL THE PROB WAS CAUSED BY A LACK OF COM BTWN LONGVIEW APCH AND ZFW; HOWEVER, THIS IN NO WAY MITIGATES THE ACTIONS BY ZFW.
