Narrative:

I performed a line check on an mdt and found that oil was needed, so I brought the qtys up to the correct capacity. I finished the line check and the aircraft was boarded and left the gate. As it taxied to the runway, the left engine went into feather and had a low pressure indication. It then returned to the gate and inspection revealed that the oil fill cap was off (causing oil to be pumped overboard). The oil level was then brought back up and the aircraft was returned to service with no damage noted. This was the second mdt line check I had performed, and I was very unfamiliar with the aircraft and had not been schooled on it yet. In trying to be extra careful and not miss anything on the line check, I apparently forgot the simple and failed to replace the oil cap.

Title: ACR MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL FAIL TO REPLACE OIL FILLER CAP AFTER INSPECTION.

Narrative: I PERFORMED A LINE CHK ON AN MDT AND FOUND THAT OIL WAS NEEDED, SO I BROUGHT THE QTYS UP TO THE CORRECT CAPACITY. I FINISHED THE LINE CHK AND THE ACFT WAS BOARDED AND LEFT THE GATE. AS IT TAXIED TO THE RWY, THE LEFT ENG WENT INTO FEATHER AND HAD A LOW PRESSURE INDICATION. IT THEN RETURNED TO THE GATE AND INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THE OIL FILL CAP WAS OFF (CAUSING OIL TO BE PUMPED OVERBOARD). THE OIL LEVEL WAS THEN BROUGHT BACK UP AND THE ACFT WAS RETURNED TO SVC WITH NO DAMAGE NOTED. THIS WAS THE SECOND MDT LINE CHK I HAD PERFORMED, AND I WAS VERY UNFAMILIAR WITH THE ACFT AND HAD NOT BEEN SCHOOLED ON IT YET. IN TRYING TO BE EXTRA CAREFUL AND NOT MISS ANYTHING ON THE LINE CHK, I APPARENTLY FORGOT THE SIMPLE AND FAILED TO REPLACE THE OIL CAP.
