Narrative:

During the final phase of approach to a landing at dtw runway 3L dtw tower advised us, air carrier X, to go around. This was due to an air carrier flight having difficulty making turn offs during rollout caused by an antiskid failure after touchdown. Our initial instructions for missed approach included a climb to 3000' MSL. During pull-up I noticed a light aircraft, an small aircraft, at our 1 O'clock position 'lower' than our cleared altitude. I reduced power and nosed our aircraft over to avoid closer proximity to the small aircraft. The remainder of the return to dtw and landing was normal. Upon arriving at our operations in dtw, I called the tower supervisor and discussed the problem. He stated that the tower was in contact with the light aircraft and that the small aircraft had been cleared thru the TRSA at or below 2500' MSL flying west to east. The small aircraft had us in sight. However, the supervisor admitted that 'they were remiss' in not advising us of his proximity to our flight path. I believe this is a prime example of communication breakdown during a critical phase of flight.

Title: ACR ON MISSED APCH CAME IN CLOSE PROX TO AN SMA.

Narrative: DURING THE FINAL PHASE OF APCH TO A LNDG AT DTW RWY 3L DTW TWR ADVISED US, ACR X, TO GO AROUND. THIS WAS DUE TO AN ACR FLT HAVING DIFFICULTY MAKING TURN OFFS DURING ROLLOUT CAUSED BY AN ANTISKID FAILURE AFTER TOUCHDOWN. OUR INITIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR MISSED APCH INCLUDED A CLIMB TO 3000' MSL. DURING PULL-UP I NOTICED A LIGHT ACFT, AN SMA, AT OUR 1 O'CLOCK POSITION 'LOWER' THAN OUR CLRED ALT. I REDUCED POWER AND NOSED OUR ACFT OVER TO AVOID CLOSER PROX TO THE SMA. THE REMAINDER OF THE RETURN TO DTW AND LNDG WAS NORMAL. UPON ARRIVING AT OUR OPERATIONS IN DTW, I CALLED THE TWR SUPVR AND DISCUSSED THE PROBLEM. HE STATED THAT THE TWR WAS IN CONTACT WITH THE LIGHT ACFT AND THAT THE SMA HAD BEEN CLRED THRU THE TRSA AT OR BELOW 2500' MSL FLYING W TO E. THE SMA HAD US IN SIGHT. HOWEVER, THE SUPVR ADMITTED THAT 'THEY WERE REMISS' IN NOT ADVISING US OF HIS PROX TO OUR FLT PATH. I BELIEVE THIS IS A PRIME EXAMPLE OF COM BREAKDOWN DURING A CRITICAL PHASE OF FLT.
