Narrative:

2 systems errors occurred at the cak approach control facility. Corp west and commuter X were never more than 1 1/2 mi apart, in trail on the ILS course at XA45Z. Small transport Y and air carrier Z were allowed to fly approximately 1 mi in trail for 4-5 mi on the ILS course at XB00Z. Nothing was done by the approach controllers to provide any type of separation. The controller laughed about it, and the supervisor did nothing after watching the situation. Supplemental information from acn 130564: I observed on the tower BRITE that air carrier Z was 2 1/2 mi in trail behind small transport Y, both on ILS runway 1. Air carrier X called me first, then small transport Y called. By this time the spacing was 2 mi. I broke the air carrier off the approach and handed him off back to the approach controllers. I feel by not having the ARTS iia, which has gndspd readout, we now have ARTS ii with no ground speed readout. ARTS iia keeps getting postponed.

Title: 2 INCIDENTS INVOLVING LESS THAN STANDARD SEPARATION BETWEEN ACFT ON ILS APCH. MULTIPLE SYSTEM ERRORS.

Narrative: 2 SYSTEMS ERRORS OCCURRED AT THE CAK APCH CTL FAC. CORP W AND COMMUTER X WERE NEVER MORE THAN 1 1/2 MI APART, IN TRAIL ON THE ILS COURSE AT XA45Z. SMT Y AND ACR Z WERE ALLOWED TO FLY APPROX 1 MI IN TRAIL FOR 4-5 MI ON THE ILS COURSE AT XB00Z. NOTHING WAS DONE BY THE APCH CTLRS TO PROVIDE ANY TYPE OF SEPARATION. THE CTLR LAUGHED ABOUT IT, AND THE SUPVR DID NOTHING AFTER WATCHING THE SITUATION. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 130564: I OBSERVED ON THE TWR BRITE THAT ACR Z WAS 2 1/2 MI IN TRAIL BEHIND SMT Y, BOTH ON ILS RWY 1. ACR X CALLED ME FIRST, THEN SMT Y CALLED. BY THIS TIME THE SPACING WAS 2 MI. I BROKE THE ACR OFF THE APCH AND HANDED HIM OFF BACK TO THE APCH CTLRS. I FEEL BY NOT HAVING THE ARTS IIA, WHICH HAS GNDSPD READOUT, WE NOW HAVE ARTS II WITH NO GND SPD READOUT. ARTS IIA KEEPS GETTING POSTPONED.
