Narrative:

Cleared for the ILS 19 at teb and switched to tower. Tower controller advised traffic at 2 o'clock type unknown 'I'm not talking to him'. We saw a target on the TCAS go amber showing 200 ft below and moving toward us. The tower controller said 'maintain altitude' and we then rec'd the TCAS RA and a climb instruction. We complied and when clear attempted to return to the landing approach. We determined that we were too high and fast to continue and declared a missed approach. We were told to fly the published miss and while beginning that procedure we were given a new heading. While in the turn my partner climbed a little to 1600 ft before returning to the published missed approach altitude of 1500 ft. We were then given a new heading and altitude. We were vectored to another approach and landed without incident. Improved scan and with the workload it would have been good to more fully employ the automation for the missed approach.

Title: A Jet crew on the TEB Runway 19 ILS at 2;000 ft took evasive action following a TCAS RA from VFR traffic in IMC without ATC contact. A go around was executed because the aircraft was too high.
