Narrative:

I was returning from a pleasure flight with two 10 year old children taking an airplane ride. I descended to pattern altitude 2 miles from the airport. I made clear radio announcements entering on a 45 for runway 21; left downwind and base. These were heard by other pilots at the airport. The cessna caravan is the jump plane operating out of this airport. He announced a straight in approach from 4;000 feet stating he would be at 2;000 feet 1 mile out. When I was on base almost ready to turn final he told me he was on short final in front of me. I was able to see him moments later as he descended into my view about 1;000 feet or less in front of me. I told him that there are procedures that are in place for right of way and pattern entry. He radioed back his intentions to land anyway and 'we can talk on the ground'. I was forced to make a go around. I have spoken with several other pilots at this airport and this is a common occurrence with this pilot and aircraft. This is dangerous behavior and and accident is likely to happen.
