Narrative:

My passenger; who is private pilot rated; observed a small flying object; possibly a drone; in the one O'clock low position. The color was red and silver with an elongated body shape. The sighting only lasted 3 to 5 seconds. ATC was then queried approximately 2 minutes after the sighting if there was any traffic in the vicinity of our aircraft. The controller advised there was none. We did then advise ATC of our encounter.
