Narrative:

Me and my 'crew partner' were planning to leave nashua too quickly for our commercial x-country requirements. The ATIS was estimating 2 mi visibility but aloft visibility was 7+. We decided to go special VFR. Unfortunately we didn't realize this was part 141 and were not allowed to. We found out we didn't follow school SOP's when we returned and some CFI's told us. This situation was brought up in an aviation law class and that's when I found out I had broken far's.
