Narrative:

We were given taxi clearance and shortly thereafter also given the IFR clearance to kahului, maui, which was changed from our initial clearance. The starting point of the taxi to the end of the runway was approximately 75 yds, which required the captain and I to go through after start, taxi, before takeoff checks and change the flight plan in the FMS as well as copy and readback the clearance during this short span of time. The clearance was a new routing and the maui via lanai instruction was not entered into the original flight plan in the FMS (molokai direct maui). We departed on the assigned heading (215 degrees) to intercept molokai to lanai arwy (V7) assigned 5000' MSL. We were in the clear with good VFR conditions, visibility 40+ mi. We contacted center after the takeoff check, and I advised the captain to enter lny into the FMS. The captain selected direct, entered lny, pushed enter (to verify position, frequency), but didn't push enter a second time to allow aircraft to proceed direct to lny (autoplt was receiving guidance from FMS 1 at this time). Since lny had not been entered, the aircraft turned and started toward maui as originally planned. We leveled off at 5000'. ZHN did not advise us of our deviation from clearance until after we had turned toward lanai, when we noticed the situation ourselves. Within 5 mins after departure ZHN, upon realizing our position, cleared us direct to lanai.

Title: FLT CREW OF MDT CPR ACFT ON SHORT FLT FROM MOLOKAI TO MAUI FLEW WRONG ARWY UNTIL CENTER CORRECTED THEM.

Narrative: WE WERE GIVEN TAXI CLRNC AND SHORTLY THEREAFTER ALSO GIVEN THE IFR CLRNC TO KAHULUI, MAUI, WHICH WAS CHANGED FROM OUR INITIAL CLRNC. THE STARTING POINT OF THE TAXI TO THE END OF THE RWY WAS APPROX 75 YDS, WHICH REQUIRED THE CAPT AND I TO GO THROUGH AFTER START, TAXI, BEFORE TKOF CHKS AND CHANGE THE FLT PLAN IN THE FMS AS WELL AS COPY AND READBACK THE CLRNC DURING THIS SHORT SPAN OF TIME. THE CLRNC WAS A NEW ROUTING AND THE MAUI VIA LANAI INSTRUCTION WAS NOT ENTERED INTO THE ORIGINAL FLT PLAN IN THE FMS (MOLOKAI DIRECT MAUI). WE DEPARTED ON THE ASSIGNED HDG (215 DEGS) TO INTERCEPT MOLOKAI TO LANAI ARWY (V7) ASSIGNED 5000' MSL. WE WERE IN THE CLR WITH GOOD VFR CONDITIONS, VISIBILITY 40+ MI. WE CONTACTED CENTER AFTER THE TKOF CHK, AND I ADVISED THE CAPT TO ENTER LNY INTO THE FMS. THE CAPT SELECTED DIRECT, ENTERED LNY, PUSHED ENTER (TO VERIFY POS, FREQ), BUT DIDN'T PUSH ENTER A SECOND TIME TO ALLOW ACFT TO PROCEED DIRECT TO LNY (AUTOPLT WAS RECEIVING GUIDANCE FROM FMS 1 AT THIS TIME). SINCE LNY HAD NOT BEEN ENTERED, THE ACFT TURNED AND STARTED TOWARD MAUI AS ORIGINALLY PLANNED. WE LEVELED OFF AT 5000'. ZHN DID NOT ADVISE US OF OUR DEVIATION FROM CLRNC UNTIL AFTER WE HAD TURNED TOWARD LANAI, WHEN WE NOTICED THE SITUATION OURSELVES. WITHIN 5 MINS AFTER DEP ZHN, UPON REALIZING OUR POS, CLRED US DIRECT TO LANAI.
