Narrative:

Near midair collision while cruising at 10,000', 250 KTS, heading approximately 150 degree. Received clearance from ocean approach to proceed direct pvd and descend to 7000', requiring a turn to a heading of approximately 060 degree. Approach immediately followed with traffic at 12 O'clock, 1 mi, 10,000'. F/east pointed to traffic right to left on a close perpendicular collision course. Captain maneuvered aircraft abruptly up and to the right to pass up and behind aircraft. Aircraft passed approximately 100-200' vertical and approximately 300' horizontal. F/a fell to the floor in aft galley, no apparent injury to crew or passenger.
