Narrative:
I was descending to an assigned altitude of 12000'. VFR traffic was pointed out by ATC at 12500', +/-100'. I recognized potential conflict and asked for heading change. Controller gave me 13000'. I was at 13000', +/-100' descending when 13000' was assigned. I stopped descent at 12600', +/-100'. Traffic (small transport) passed from right to left (he was not on same frequency).

Narrative: I WAS DSNDING TO AN ASSIGNED ALT OF 12000'. VFR TFC WAS POINTED OUT BY ATC AT 12500', +/-100'. I RECOGNIZED POTENTIAL CONFLICT AND ASKED FOR HDG CHANGE. CTLR GAVE ME 13000'. I WAS AT 13000', +/-100' DSNDING WHEN 13000' WAS ASSIGNED. I STOPPED DSCNT AT 12600', +/-100'. TFC (SMT) PASSED FROM RIGHT TO LEFT (HE WAS NOT ON SAME FREQ).
