Narrative:

During hush one departure at newark, I misread the altitude for the 22 right&left runways. I dialed in 5000' in the alerter instead of 2500', it read on departure. I believe 2 things were the reason: first, I should have read the departure closer, and secondly, I think they should come out with a separate 'commercial publication' chart for the departure instead of putting it in a small square on another chart.

Title: REPORTER CONFUSES DEP ALT ON COMMERCIALLY PRODUCED STANDARD INSTRUMENT DEP (SID) CHART. TWO DIFFERENT SIDS ARE PRESENTED ON THE SAME CHART.

Narrative: DURING HUSH ONE DEP AT NEWARK, I MISREAD THE ALT FOR THE 22 R&L RWYS. I DIALED IN 5000' IN THE ALERTER INSTEAD OF 2500', IT READ ON DEP. I BELIEVE 2 THINGS WERE THE REASON: FIRST, I SHOULD HAVE READ THE DEP CLOSER, AND SECONDLY, I THINK THEY SHOULD COME OUT WITH A SEPARATE 'COMMERCIAL PUBLICATION' CHART FOR THE DEP INSTEAD OF PUTTING IT IN A SMALL SQUARE ON ANOTHER CHART.
