Narrative:
On the sadde arrival we were given 'cross smo at 7;000; depart heading 070' approaching smo we got a 'traffic' advisory and saw an rj ahead and well below crossing in front north bound; well de-conflicted. After we had passed; (and what I perceived as us separating) we got the red box on the pfd and a command to climb. I disconnected the autopilot; started to pitch up; and almost as soon as the RA advisory popped up; it then cleared. The whole even was maybe 2 seconds; and we resumed the descent to 7;000.
