Narrative:

On approach; ATC had us turn off the approach and proceed to a fix for holding. While holding at 6;000 ft I notified the flight attendant; the passengers; and dispatch. Dispatch sent us a message with the fuel required to go to our alternate. After I read this and checked our fuel; we were already below our 'bingo' fuel. We immediately proceeded to our alternate airport and landed uneventfully. In route we burned extra fuel deviating for weather. Supply us with more fuel for weather deviations.
