Narrative:

I was practicing the full NDB approach to runway 30 at deland. With approximately 60 hours of flying time in the central fl area, I am fully aware of the dab arsa and its requirements. Whenever I travel this area, I always contact dab approach and respond as required. This evening I was engrossed in my practicing of the NDB approach and failed to comply with the arsa rules as I flew outbnd, flew the procedure turn and returned inbound for this particular instrument approach at deland. Being familiar with the ground references, I failed to use my sectional and used only the particular government approach plate. Dab and the dab arsa is not printed on this plate. The problem occurred when I failed to use the sectional for navigation purposes. Using the sectional would have avoided this violation. It may be beneficial to print arsa's on approach plates. To the best of my knowledge, I did not cause conflict to any other aircraft. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: reporter is working on an instrument rating and was practicing NDB approachs in VFR conditions by herself. She had been out with an instrument who did not contact ATC when practicing and assumed that was the procedure. She was using unicom and announcing position and intentions.

Title: PVT PLT WORKING ON INSTRUMENT RATING, PRACTICING NDB APCHS AT NIGHT AT UNCONTROLLED FIELD. PENETRATED NEARBY ARSA ON OUTBOUND PROC TURN.

Narrative: I WAS PRACTICING THE FULL NDB APCH TO RWY 30 AT DELAND. WITH APPROX 60 HRS OF FLYING TIME IN THE CENTRAL FL AREA, I AM FULLY AWARE OF THE DAB ARSA AND ITS REQUIREMENTS. WHENEVER I TRAVEL THIS AREA, I ALWAYS CONTACT DAB APCH AND RESPOND AS REQUIRED. THIS EVENING I WAS ENGROSSED IN MY PRACTICING OF THE NDB APCH AND FAILED TO COMPLY WITH THE ARSA RULES AS I FLEW OUTBND, FLEW THE PROC TURN AND RETURNED INBND FOR THIS PARTICULAR INSTRUMENT APCH AT DELAND. BEING FAMILIAR WITH THE GND REFERENCES, I FAILED TO USE MY SECTIONAL AND USED ONLY THE PARTICULAR GOVERNMENT APCH PLATE. DAB AND THE DAB ARSA IS NOT PRINTED ON THIS PLATE. THE PROB OCCURRED WHEN I FAILED TO USE THE SECTIONAL FOR NAV PURPOSES. USING THE SECTIONAL WOULD HAVE AVOIDED THIS VIOLATION. IT MAY BE BENEFICIAL TO PRINT ARSA'S ON APCH PLATES. TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE, I DID NOT CAUSE CONFLICT TO ANY OTHER ACFT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: RPTR IS WORKING ON AN INSTRUMENT RATING AND WAS PRACTICING NDB APCHS IN VFR CONDITIONS BY HERSELF. SHE HAD BEEN OUT WITH AN INSTR WHO DID NOT CONTACT ATC WHEN PRACTICING AND ASSUMED THAT WAS THE PROC. SHE WAS USING UNICOM AND ANNOUNCING POS AND INTENTIONS.
