Narrative:

After landing in lexington, ky on the long runway (klex runway 4) we rolled out to the cross runway (klex runway 8) short runway and made a right off after calling tower 2 or 3 times trying to get their approval to do so. No response from tower. At the approach end of runway 22 was a commuter aircraft holding short blocking the taxiway. We made a right off and taxied about 150' on runway 8 to the parallel taxiway. As we were turning on the cross runway and taxiing back, a female voice (ground control) came over tower frequency and informed us that the 'short' runway (runway 8) was not stressed for our type of aircraft. We proceeded to the gate with no other incident. No damage to the runway or our aircraft was noted. We consulted the airport diagram in our manuals and NOTAMS finding no reference to our aircraft being stressed or not for this runway. Our company NOTAMS indicated that runway 8 was not stressed for medium large transport-2 large transport aircraft on the computer printout. Our company classifies the medium large transport-1 and medium large transport-2 as separate aircraft (i.e., different training curriculum and restrictions on flying categories, all references are unique and distinct). We probably glanced past the reference to medium large transport-2 large transport on preflight looking at the NOTAMS, thus, not noting the weight restriction limit on lg-2 large transport which we probably could have deduced would also apply to medium large transport-1. NOTAMS should be specific to aircraft type. Also, manuals may include this information.

Title: REPORTER ACFT EXITED LNDG RWY ONTO INTERSECTING THAT WAS NOT STRESSED FOR MLG ACFT. RADIO COM PROBLEM BETWEEN MLG AND TWR.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG IN LEXINGTON, KY ON THE LONG RWY (KLEX RWY 4) WE ROLLED OUT TO THE CROSS RWY (KLEX RWY 8) SHORT RWY AND MADE A RIGHT OFF AFTER CALLING TWR 2 OR 3 TIMES TRYING TO GET THEIR APPROVAL TO DO SO. NO RESPONSE FROM TWR. AT THE APCH END OF RWY 22 WAS A COMMUTER ACFT HOLDING SHORT BLOCKING THE TXWY. WE MADE A RIGHT OFF AND TAXIED ABOUT 150' ON RWY 8 TO THE PARALLEL TXWY. AS WE WERE TURNING ON THE CROSS RWY AND TAXIING BACK, A FEMALE VOICE (GND CTL) CAME OVER TWR FREQ AND INFORMED US THAT THE 'SHORT' RWY (RWY 8) WAS NOT STRESSED FOR OUR TYPE OF ACFT. WE PROCEEDED TO THE GATE WITH NO OTHER INCIDENT. NO DAMAGE TO THE RWY OR OUR ACFT WAS NOTED. WE CONSULTED THE ARPT DIAGRAM IN OUR MANUALS AND NOTAMS FINDING NO REFERENCE TO OUR ACFT BEING STRESSED OR NOT FOR THIS RWY. OUR COMPANY NOTAMS INDICATED THAT RWY 8 WAS NOT STRESSED FOR MLG-2 LGT ACFT ON THE COMPUTER PRINTOUT. OUR COMPANY CLASSIFIES THE MLG-1 AND MLG-2 AS SEPARATE ACFT (I.E., DIFFERENT TRAINING CURRICULUM AND RESTRICTIONS ON FLYING CATEGORIES, ALL REFERENCES ARE UNIQUE AND DISTINCT). WE PROBABLY GLANCED PAST THE REFERENCE TO MLG-2 LGT ON PREFLT LOOKING AT THE NOTAMS, THUS, NOT NOTING THE WEIGHT RESTRICTION LIMIT ON LG-2 LGT WHICH WE PROBABLY COULD HAVE DEDUCED WOULD ALSO APPLY TO MLG-1. NOTAMS SHOULD BE SPECIFIC TO ACFT TYPE. ALSO, MANUALS MAY INCLUDE THIS INFO.
