Narrative:

Landed milwaukee. Copilot landing. I took control for taxi off runway taxiway M. Told to turn right to taxi a, taxi to gate. Taxiway a is not marked at this location. Aircraft was taxied with nose past taxiway a. Prior to realizing aircraft was passing the taxiway, taxiway aa was blocked off. Taxiway M was too narrow to turn. I proceeded to ramp (approximately 500') to turn aircraft around. There was considerable construction in the ramp area and between taxiway aa and ramp. Upon reaching the ramp a turn or backing under aircraft power was in my opinion not advisable. We called for a tractor which came and backed us up on ramp. We then exited ramp on taxiway M, turned left on taxiway a (not marked) and taxied onto the ramp, embarrassed but without an incident.
