Narrative:

Executing go around at den 26L. Flying west at 7000' on 118.3 local tower frequency for further instructions. About 5 mi west den tower advised after transposing call signs and some confusion, that we, air carrier X, had traffic at 1 O'clock 7000' same altitude 'do we have him'. We did not right away. Then another voice (female) came on and advised us to climb to 8000' and turn left heading 080. About that time first officer spotted the aircraft in question and maneuvered above and ahead of same. Continued clearance 080 at 8000' to a landing uneventfully on 26L. Supplemental information from acn 115005: problem arose after tower ordered a missed approach because previous aircraft was still on the runway 26L. Missed approach was complicated by the fact that Q widebody transport was simultaneously leaving the ground on takeoff from runway 17L (widebody transport banked left and southeast behind us). Tower (male) gave missed approach instructions as runway heading to 7000'. At about 5 miles west of airport tower called traffic at 1 O'clock, 7000', and asked if we had a visual. We did not initially. Then female voice came on frequency over top of the tower voice and directed a climb to 8000' and turn to 080 degree. Then I saw the traffic and initiated the climb to 8000' keeping the traffic in sight going from 1 O'clock eventually to 5 O'clock. Asked tower what heading he wanted us on and he said 260 degree. Then female voice again directed 080 degree and 8000, which we did. Landing and approach uneventful.

Narrative: EXECUTING GO AROUND AT DEN 26L. FLYING WEST AT 7000' ON 118.3 LOCAL TWR FREQ FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS. ABOUT 5 MI WEST DEN TWR ADVISED AFTER TRANSPOSING CALL SIGNS AND SOME CONFUSION, THAT WE, ACR X, HAD TFC AT 1 O'CLOCK 7000' SAME ALT 'DO WE HAVE HIM'. WE DID NOT RIGHT AWAY. THEN ANOTHER VOICE (FEMALE) CAME ON AND ADVISED US TO CLIMB TO 8000' AND TURN LEFT HDG 080. ABOUT THAT TIME F/O SPOTTED THE ACFT IN QUESTION AND MANEUVERED ABOVE AND AHEAD OF SAME. CONTINUED CLRNC 080 AT 8000' TO A LNDG UNEVENTFULLY ON 26L. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM ACN 115005: PROBLEM AROSE AFTER TWR ORDERED A MISSED APCH BECAUSE PREVIOUS ACFT WAS STILL ON THE RWY 26L. MISSED APCH WAS COMPLICATED BY THE FACT THAT Q WDB WAS SIMULTANEOUSLY LEAVING THE GND ON TKOF FROM RWY 17L (WDB BANKED LEFT AND SE BEHIND US). TWR (MALE) GAVE MISSED APCH INSTRUCTIONS AS RWY HDG TO 7000'. AT ABOUT 5 MILES WEST OF ARPT TWR CALLED TFC AT 1 O'CLOCK, 7000', AND ASKED IF WE HAD A VISUAL. WE DID NOT INITIALLY. THEN FEMALE VOICE CAME ON FREQ OVER TOP OF THE TWR VOICE AND DIRECTED A CLIMB TO 8000' AND TURN TO 080 DEG. THEN I SAW THE TFC AND INITIATED THE CLIMB TO 8000' KEEPING THE TFC IN SIGHT GOING FROM 1 O'CLOCK EVENTUALLY TO 5 O'CLOCK. ASKED TWR WHAT HDG HE WANTED US ON AND HE SAID 260 DEG. THEN FEMALE VOICE AGAIN DIRECTED 080 DEG AND 8000, WHICH WE DID. LNDG AND APCH UNEVENTFUL.
