Narrative:

Flight progressed normally until just prior to turn in for the ILS. Captain mistook call for aircraft to mean frequency. Aircraft crossed approach course while off correct approach frequency. When we returned to proper frequency, we received an 'immediate left turn' back to intercept. On the new heading, autoplt was engaged for a coupled approach, but did not have time to settle and did not capture localizer. Autoplt was disengaged and flown manually to recapture until 600', at which time crew elected to go around. Correction would be for closer attention to frequency instructions by crew.
