Narrative:

I was receiving initial operating experience training for medium large transport differences, captain (not PIC). On taxi out for takeoff on taxiway 2B to the runup area for runway 14L and hold short of the runup area. Ground control asked if we wished to use runway 08. We checked our weight and asked for runway 08. We taxied up to runway 08 on taxiway northeast. Tower said to taxi into position and hold. When the airplane was lined up for takeoff another airplane was on a rollout coming the opposite direction, and turned off about halfway down runway 26. No close call but a breakdown of communication.
