Narrative:
On la guardia 4 departure whitestone transition during heading 180 experienced some jet wash [just as we were] starting to turn on [the] 040 heading at 2.4 DME from lga. ATC called us and asked if we are in the turn 040 heading and we replied; 'yes we are in the turn [to] 040 also we [were] told we turned [at] 2.4 DME lga.' after that ATC gave us another heading.

Title: CRJ-700 flight crew reported deviation from Whitestone track due in part to wake vortex encounter.
Narrative: On La Guardia 4 departure Whitestone transition during heading 180 experienced some jet wash [just as we were] starting to turn on [the] 040 heading at 2.4 DME from LGA. ATC called us and asked if we are in the turn 040 heading and we replied; 'yes we are in the turn [to] 040 also we [were] told we turned [at] 2.4 DME LGA.' After that ATC gave us another heading.
