Narrative:

While approaching the ramp area from the north, the right main gear left the pavement for a distance of approximately 40' at the northwest corner of the taxiway and then returned to the concrete and taxi was continued to the gate. This area, between the old and new terminals, is constructed of patchwork type paving and narrows rapidly. The edges are marked only by reflective strips on plastic posts, not by blue taxi lights. Having learned that this is not the first taxi excursion from the concrete in this same area, I strongly recommend the installation of standard taxi lighting or designating this taxiway for daytime use only.
