Narrative:

During climb observation made that ship number on dispatch release was different from actual ship, although same model and series number. Difference in empty weight was not noticed in performance in this case but could be in other situations. Checking actual ship number when on board will obviously avoid recurrence.

Title: FLT CREW DISCOVERED THAT THE DISPATCH RELEASE CONTAINED THE WRONG ACFT NUMBER. DISCOVERED AFTER DEP.

Narrative: DURING CLIMB OBSERVATION MADE THAT SHIP NUMBER ON DISPATCH RELEASE WAS DIFFERENT FROM ACTUAL SHIP, ALTHOUGH SAME MODEL AND SERIES NUMBER. DIFFERENCE IN EMPTY WEIGHT WAS NOT NOTICED IN PERFORMANCE IN THIS CASE BUT COULD BE IN OTHER SITUATIONS. CHECKING ACTUAL SHIP NUMBER WHEN ON BOARD WILL OBVIOUSLY AVOID RECURRENCE.
