Narrative:

We had been on a 4-DAY trip which left our domicile on the first day and did not return until the fourth day and we had not been issued the chart revision which included the new slate run 6 arrival into ewr. Jun/thu/89 was the effective date for the new arrival and our lack of having it (along with just about everybody else arriving over broadway VOR) got the approach controller a little bit miffed. We arrived in ewr, went to the chief pilot's office and found that the revision had just been issued the day before.
