Narrative:

On departure out of macon, GA, I was instructed to climb to 9000'. I climbed to 9800'. I was flying from the right seat and my copilot was coordinating with the nurse, in the back, who was attending to a burn patient. I was not current in the right seat and the door should have been closed on climb out till we were in cruise flight. I was distracted and the flight was late night, my body was not in a most alert status.

Narrative: ON DEP OUT OF MACON, GA, I WAS INSTRUCTED TO CLIMB TO 9000'. I CLIMBED TO 9800'. I WAS FLYING FROM THE RIGHT SEAT AND MY COPLT WAS COORDINATING WITH THE NURSE, IN THE BACK, WHO WAS ATTENDING TO A BURN PATIENT. I WAS NOT CURRENT IN THE RIGHT SEAT AND THE DOOR SHOULD HAVE BEEN CLOSED ON CLIMB OUT TILL WE WERE IN CRUISE FLT. I WAS DISTRACTED AND THE FLT WAS LATE NIGHT, MY BODY WAS NOT IN A MOST ALERT STATUS.
