Narrative:

During a scheduled flight from den to ewr noticed right hydraulic fluid qty go down from 12 qts to 3 qts. Following standard procedures we turned off right engine hydraulic pump and monitored all gauges. After turning off hydraulic pump we noticed right hydraulic qty gauge came back to normal (12 qts). So, we tried turning pump back on and saw the qty drop down to 3 qts again--so again following standard procedures we left the pump off. Contacted maintenance and discussed problem. While making a precautionary VFR landing on runway 04R ewr, left and right pressure was normal but low. Right hydraulic fluid down to 3 qts with gear door open light on. After a safe T/D and emergency equipment standing by, maintenance found skid plate off left gear door where aircraft touched down. After maintenance looked gear over, found no reason not to taxi to gate as normal procedure. Note: after landing and stopping off runway of last high speed, gear doors came up by themselves and gear door open light went out. Also, left hydraulic pressure qty always normal. Right side pressure normal, but low hydraulic fluid qty.

Title: MLG ACFT TYPE LOST RIGHT HYDRAULIC FLUID AND PRESSURE. FLT CREW TURNED OFF RIGHT HYDRAULIC PUMP AND CONTINUED TO EWR. EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT STANDING BY. NORMAL LNDG AND TURN OFF RWY. GND MAINTENANCE FOUND SKID PLATE OFF LEFT GEAR DOOR ON RWY. ACFT TAXIED TO GATE.

Narrative: DURING A SCHEDULED FLT FROM DEN TO EWR NOTICED RIGHT HYD FLUID QTY GO DOWN FROM 12 QTS TO 3 QTS. FOLLOWING STANDARD PROCS WE TURNED OFF RIGHT ENG HYD PUMP AND MONITORED ALL GAUGES. AFTER TURNING OFF HYD PUMP WE NOTICED RIGHT HYD QTY GAUGE CAME BACK TO NORMAL (12 QTS). SO, WE TRIED TURNING PUMP BACK ON AND SAW THE QTY DROP DOWN TO 3 QTS AGAIN--SO AGAIN FOLLOWING STANDARD PROCS WE LEFT THE PUMP OFF. CONTACTED MAINT AND DISCUSSED PROB. WHILE MAKING A PRECAUTIONARY VFR LNDG ON RWY 04R EWR, LEFT AND RIGHT PRESSURE WAS NORMAL BUT LOW. RIGHT HYD FLUID DOWN TO 3 QTS WITH GEAR DOOR OPEN LIGHT ON. AFTER A SAFE T/D AND EMER EQUIP STANDING BY, MAINT FOUND SKID PLATE OFF LEFT GEAR DOOR WHERE ACFT TOUCHED DOWN. AFTER MAINT LOOKED GEAR OVER, FOUND NO REASON NOT TO TAXI TO GATE AS NORMAL PROC. NOTE: AFTER LNDG AND STOPPING OFF RWY OF LAST HIGH SPD, GEAR DOORS CAME UP BY THEMSELVES AND GEAR DOOR OPEN LIGHT WENT OUT. ALSO, LEFT HYD PRESSURE QTY ALWAYS NORMAL. RIGHT SIDE PRESSURE NORMAL, BUT LOW HYD FLUID QTY.
