Narrative:
I climbed air carrier X off hou to 15,000' and vectored the aircraft towards lfk, out the departure gate. Due to overlapping data blocks, I deactivated the ARTS quicklook and failed to observe air carrier Y inbound to hou at 10,000'. Air carrier X apparently leveled at 10,000' to pick up speed and the aircraft passed within 1/2 mile of each other and within 200' vertically.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR CONFLICTED WITH OPPOSITE DIRECTION TRAFFIC AT THE SAME ALT RESULTING IN LESS THAN STANDARD SEPARATION.
Narrative: I CLIMBED ACR X OFF HOU TO 15,000' AND VECTORED THE ACFT TOWARDS LFK, OUT THE DEP GATE. DUE TO OVERLAPPING DATA BLOCKS, I DEACTIVATED THE ARTS QUICKLOOK AND FAILED TO OBSERVE ACR Y INBOUND TO HOU AT 10,000'. ACR X APPARENTLY LEVELED AT 10,000' TO PICK UP SPEED AND THE ACFT PASSED WITHIN 1/2 MILE OF EACH OTHER AND WITHIN 200' VERTICALLY.
