Narrative:

Ad wife ride in cockpit jump seat (passenger seat was available) so as to orient her to what I do. Wife has had recent difficulty communicating and understanding exactly what goes on in cockpit and why I'm tired after working 5 or 6 consecutive days. Thought this would give her more insight. I must confess that I was vague on the far. Thought that jump seat authorization was at captain's discretion. As added note, wife new has new appreciation for working in stressful environment and has helped take a little crinkle out of marital problems which better helps me in the work place.
