Narrative:

1) after getting the ATIS (wind calm) I called for taxi instructions and requested C-4 int. 2) tower advised to taxi to runway 28L F1 int., I acknowledged. 3) the tower then advised they could authorize C-4 int. And I accepted thinking that they had changed from 28L to 10R (we never use 28L C-4 int. Because there isn't enough runway left. 4) after being clrd for takeoff on what I understood to be 10R I taxied into position 10R and departed. 5) after takeoff the tower asked if I knew that I departed 10R and I acknowledged they told me to turn to 360 degrees and call departure. 6) upon landing at destination, I called the tower and told them that I thought we might have had a problem when I departed. They agreed and said they saw me line up on 10R and depart and could have stopped me but didn't because there was no conflict. 7) I feel the problem started from expecting to receive one thing and ont realizing that something different had been assigned. 8) to help prevent this from happening again all clrncs for takeoff etc., should be read back including runway.

BECAUSE THERE ISN'T ENOUGH RWY LEFT. 4) AFTER BEING CLRD FOR TKOF ON WHAT I UNDERSTOOD TO BE 10R I TAXIED INTO POSITION 10R AND DEPARTED. 5) AFTER TKOF THE TWR ASKED IF I KNEW THAT I DEPARTED 10R AND I ACKNOWLEDGED THEY TOLD ME TO TURN TO 360 DEGS AND CALL DEP. 6) UPON LNDG AT DEST, I CALLED THE TWR AND TOLD THEM THAT I THOUGHT WE MIGHT HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WHEN I DEPARTED. THEY AGREED AND SAID THEY SAW ME LINE UP ON 10R AND DEPART AND COULD HAVE STOPPED ME BUT DIDN'T BECAUSE THERE WAS NO CONFLICT. 7) I FEEL THE PROBLEM STARTED FROM EXPECTING TO RECEIVE ONE THING AND ONT REALIZING THAT SOMETHING DIFFERENT HAD BEEN ASSIGNED. 8) TO HELP PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN ALL CLRNCS FOR TKOF ETC., SHOULD BE READ BACK INCLUDING RWY.
