Narrative:

Controller issued clearance to cross pvd at 11000', 250 KTS. I read back the clearance correctly but set 10000' in the altitude alerter by mistake. Approximately 11400' in descent we realized error but aircraft descended to approximately 10200' before we could get it 'bottomed out' and climb back to 11000'. Unsure why I set 10000' unless it was due to force of habit setting 10000/250 KT for home base arrival. Supplemental information from acn 107661. ATC called us passing through 10500', told us to maintain 11000', we climbed back to 11000'.
