Narrative:

This was a simple mistake! The company I work for bought an aircraft 6 weeks ago. On a trip to fl, had to pick up one of the partners in nassau. I check with customs before departure from USA, gave them 3.5 hours notice. But on returning to opf customs, they inform me that with a pink slip temporary registration was illegal to fly out of USA. I do not know how I missed this change in the regulations. Callback conversation with reporter revealed following information. Reporter states no follow up contact at this time. Reporter went back, researched and found one obscure mention of regulation in a magazine article. Irony of the situation is that the permanent registration was at the office on his return home.
