Narrative:

I was being vectored by approach control in preparation for landing at bna. I was at assigned altitude and heading at time of near miss. Approach control told me of traffic at 2 O'clock and gave wake turbulence warning. Traffic was a commercial jet (air carrier, unsure of type). Approach pointed me out to the jet. The pilot wanted to know what I was going to do. Approach told him I would continue east. The captain's reply was, 'ok, I'll miss him.' I do not know if he had to pull up but he went over me with little vertical sep.
