Narrative:

I read back a clearance to cross tonto intersection at 26000' or below to maintain 24000'. As we turned the corner at fossl intersection and about 28000' abq ATC asked us if we misunderstood the clearance to cross fossl at 26000'. I replied that we heard the crossing restriction as tonto intersection. He switched us to another frequency. The 3 of us in the cockpit all agreed that we thought he said tonto intersection and are positive that I read back tonto intersection. I feel the problem was caused by 2 similar sounding intxns close together on same arrival approach procedure. Supplemental information from acn 105376: we were anticipating a tonto restriction. ATC did not notice nor react to our readback.

Title: ACR LGT ALT DEVIATION CROSSING RESTRICTION NOT MET.

Narrative: I READ BACK A CLRNC TO CROSS TONTO INTXN AT 26000' OR BELOW TO MAINTAIN 24000'. AS WE TURNED THE CORNER AT FOSSL INTXN AND ABOUT 28000' ABQ ATC ASKED US IF WE MISUNDERSTOOD THE CLRNC TO CROSS FOSSL AT 26000'. I REPLIED THAT WE HEARD THE XING RESTRICTION AS TONTO INTXN. HE SWITCHED US TO ANOTHER FREQ. THE 3 OF US IN THE COCKPIT ALL AGREED THAT WE THOUGHT HE SAID TONTO INTXN AND ARE POSITIVE THAT I READ BACK TONTO INTXN. I FEEL THE PROB WAS CAUSED BY 2 SIMILAR SOUNDING INTXNS CLOSE TOGETHER ON SAME ARR APCH PROC. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 105376: WE WERE ANTICIPATING A TONTO RESTRICTION. ATC DID NOT NOTICE NOR REACT TO OUR READBACK.
