Narrative:

After departing runway 24 from teb on the RUUDY2 departure; we were tracking to intercept the 260 course to wentz intersection; the autopilot was not engaged. The course came alive to intercept the 260 course but the flight director did not begin its turn to course until after we went through the 260 degree course; we began our turn to re intercept the course to wentz intersection. Departure control issued a heading and altitude which took us off the departure procedure and ATC vectored us for the remainder of the climb.
