Narrative:

I was informed by operations that the aircraft that I flew had the wrong database installed in the FMS. It had a B777 database instead of an MD11 database. I did check the date of the database but did not check the numbers at the top to verify correct installation. After seeing the same thing at the top of the screen I rarely verify the correct database installed! We proceeded to destination without any issues or ATC questions so I am assuming the data base was close enough to operate a MD11. Have maintenance verify the aircraft type and database type before installation then reverify after load.
