In ZZZ at company hangar facility in january 2012; the overwing emergency exits on an emb-145 aircraft were installed on opposite sides. I; maintenance supervisor; cross-referenced effectivities to verify that the part numbers [overwing exit hatches] were applicable to both aircraft.

Title: A Maintenance Supervisor reports about two overwing emergency exit hatches that had been installed at opposite positions in the cabin of an EMB-145 aircraft. The hatches are interchangeable; only the placard on each hatch determines left and right positions.
