Narrative:
While at cruise at FL410 we lost the right generator. I pulled out the QRH and began running the generator failure checklist. When we got the generator to reset; we had a cur limiter [current limiter] light and a mach trim light. We had initially declared an emergency but when we were able to reset the generator; we requested a diversion to a nearby airport for a precautionary landing. Approximately 40 miles out we received an elec amber message. At that point we were on battery power and declared an emergency. When we landed; the right engine was turned off first and we had power. When the left was shut down; we lost all ship's power.
