Narrative:

We were cleared for a visual approach by sdm tower to runway 26R at san diego brown field (sdm). We inadvertently turned final for runway 27 at tijuana (mmtj). Brown tower advised us that we were on final for runway 27 at tijuana. We executed an immediate go around entered left base for runway 26R and landed at sdm without further incident. We were advised on departure from sdm ground control that they had coordination with mmtj tower and that this would not constitute a violation due to the frequency of this type of occurrence. Contributing factors to this occurrence were haze, light conditions, and the close proximity of the 2 airports concerned.
