Narrative:

Route was down-linked through ACARS into FMC by the captain in operations. The ACARS printer received the route although it did not put data in FMC. I manually inserted the route. After passing pxt ATC advised us that we weren't on the pxt 238 degree right. We checked the flight plan and we were filed that way, however, the route sent by ACARS sent us direct to hpw after pxt. Center then cleared us direct hpw. This situation could have been avoided if I had been more thorough in checking the FMC against the flight plan.
